Allah 's Apostle said, " I have been ordered to fight with the people till they say, 'None has the right to
be worshipped but Allah,' and whoever says, 'None has the right to be worshipped but Allah,' his life
and property will be saved by me except for Islamic law, and his accounts will be with Allah, (either
to punish him or to forgive him.)" - Hadith Al Bukhari 2946 (islam)

“Whenever he
appointed a man to lead a military detachment, the Messenger of Allah
(ﷺ) would advise him especially to fear Allah and treat the Muslims
with him well. He (ﷺ) said: ‘Fight in the Name of Allah and in
the
cause of Allah. Fight those how disbelieve in Allah. Fight but do
not
be treacherous, do not steal from the spoils of war, do not
mutilate
and do not kill children. When you meet your enemy from
among the
polytheists, call them to one of three things. Whichever of
them they
respond to, accept it from them and refrain from fighting
them. Invite
them to accept Islam, and if they respond then accept it
from them and
refrain from fighting them. Then invite them to leave
their land and
move to the land of the polytheists. Tell them that if
they do that,
then they will have the same rights and duties as the
polytheists. If
they refuse, then tell them that they will be like
the Muslim Bedouins
(who live in the desert), subject to the same
rulings of Allah as the
believers. But they will have no share of
Fay’* or war spoils, unless
they fight alongside the Muslims. If
they refuse to enter Islam, then
ask them to pay the Poll-tax. If
they do that, then accept it from
them and refrain from fighting
them. But if they refuse, then seek the
help of Allah against them
and fight them. If you lay siege to them
and they want you to give
them the protection of Allah and your
Prophet, do not give them the
protection of Allah and your Prophet,
rather give them your
protection and the protection of your father and
your Companions, for
if you violate your protection and the protection
of your fathers,
that is easier than violating the protection of Allah
and the
protection of His Messenger. If you lay siege to them and they
want
you to let them come out with a promise of the judgement of Allah
and
His Messenger (ﷺ), do not offer them a promise of the judgement
of
Allah and His Messenger (ﷺ), rather offer them your judgement,
because you do not know if you will actually pass (the same as)
Allah’s judgement regarding them or not.’”

I have been commanded to fight against people so long as they do not declare that there is no god but Allah, and he who professed it was guaranteed the protection of his property and life on my behalf except for the right affairs rest with Allah. - Hadith Muslim 21a (islam)

They swear by Allah that they did not say [anything against the Prophet] while they had said the word of disbelief and disbelieved after their [pretense of] Islam and planned that which they were not to attain. And they were not resentful except [for the fact] that Allah and His Messenger had enriched them of His bounty. So if they repent, it is better for them; but if they turn away, Allah will punish them with a painful punishment in this world and the Hereafter. And there will not be for them on earth any protector or helper. - Quran At-Tawbah(The Repentance) 9:74 (islam)

Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not. - Quran Al-Baqarah(The Cow) 2:216 (islam)

Fight in the name of Allah and in the way of Allah. Fight against those who disbelieve in Allah. Make a holy war, do not embezzle the spoils; do not break your pledge; and do not mutilate (the dead) bodies; do not kill the children. When you meet your enemies who are polytheists, invite them to three courses of action. If they respond to any one of these, you also accept it and withhold yourself from doing them any harm. Invite them to (accept) Islam; if they respond to you, accept it from them and desist from fighting against them. Then invite them to migrate from their lands to the land of the Muhajireen and inform them that, if they do so, they shall have all the privileges and obligations of the Muhajireen. If they refuse to migrate, tell them that they will have the status of Bedouin Muslims and will be subjected to the Commands of Allah like other Muslims, but they will not get any share from the spoils of war or Fai' except when they actually fight with the Muslims (against the disbelievers). If they refuse to accept Islam, demand from them the Jizya. If they agree to pay, accept it from them and hold off your hands. If they refuse to pay the tax, seek Allah's help and fight them. When you lay siege to a fort and the besieged appeal to you for protection in the name of Allah and His Prophet, do not accord to them the guarantee of Allah and His Prophet, but accord to them your own guarantee and the guarantee of your companions for it is a lesser sin that the security given by you or your companions be disregarded than that the security granted in the name of Allah and His Prophet be violated. When you besiege a fort and the besieged want you to let them out in accordance with Allah's Command, do not let them come out in accordance with His Command, but do so at your (own) command, for you do not know whether or not you will be able to carry out Allah's behest with regard to them. - Hadith Muslim 1731a (islam)

I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, "The reward of deeds depends upon the
intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he
has intended. So whoever emigrated for worldly benefits or for a woman
to marry, his emigration was for what he emigrated for."

Day of Resurrection with his wounds looking as they did on the day

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Nobody who dies and finds good from Allah (in the
Hereafter) would wish to come back to this world even if he were given
the whole world and whatever is in it, except the martyr who, on
seeing the superiority of martyrdom, would like to come back to the

[Remember] when your Lord inspired to the angels, "I am with you, so strengthen those who have believed. I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike [them] upon the necks and strike from them every fingertip." - Quran Al-Anfal(The Spoils of War) 8:12 (islam)

It is He who expelled the ones who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think they would leave, and they thought that their fortresses would protect them from Allah; but [the decree of] Allah came upon them from where they had not expected, and He cast terror into their hearts [so] they destroyed their houses by their [own] hands and the hands of the believers. So take warning, O people of vision. - Quran Al-Hashr(The Exile) 59:2 (islam)

And He brought down those who supported them among the People of the Scripture from their fortresses and cast terror into their hearts [so that] a party you killed, and you took captive a party. - Quran Al-Ahzab(The Confederates) 33:26 (islam)

When the Prophet (ﷺ) arrived Medina he dismounted at `Awali-i-Medina amongst a tribe called Banu
`Amr bin `Auf. He stayed there For fourteen nights. Then he sent for Bani An-Najjar and they came
armed with their swords. As if I am looking (just now) as the Prophet (ﷺ) was sitting over his Rahila
(Mount) with Abu Bakr riding behind him and all Banu An-Najjar around him till he dismounted at
the courtyard of Abu Aiyub's house. The Prophet (ﷺ) loved to pray wherever the time for the prayer was
due even at sheep-folds. Later on he ordered that a mosque should be built and sent for some people of
Banu-An-Najjar and said, "O Banu An-Najjar! Suggest to me the price of this (walled) piece of land
of yours." They replied, "No! By Allah! We do not demand its price except from Allah." Anas added:
There were graves of pagans in it and some of it was unleveled and there were some date-palm trees
in it. The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered that the graves of the pagans be dug out and the unleveled land be level led
and the date-palm trees be cut down . (So all that was done). They aligned these cut date-palm trees
towards the Qibla of the mosque (as a wall) and they also built two stone side-walls (of the mosque).
His companions brought the stones while reciting some poetic verses. The Prophet (ﷺ) was with them and
he kept on saying, "There is no goodness except that of the Hereafter, O Allah! So please forgive the
Ansars and the emigrants. " - Hadith Al Bukhari 428 (islam)

And what Allah restored [of property] to His Messenger from them - you did not spur for it [in an expedition] any horses or camels, but Allah gives His messengers power over whom He wills, and Allah is over all things competent. - Quran Al-Hashr(The Exile) 59:6 (islam)

I have been given superiority over the other prophets in six respects: I have been given words which are concise but comprehensive in meaning; I have been helped by terror (in the hearts of enemies): spoils have been made lawful to me: the earth has been made for me clean and a place of worship; I have been sent to all mankind and the line of prophets is closed with me. - Hadith Muslim 523a (islam)

O you who have believed, what is [the matter] with you that, when you are told to go forth in the cause of Allah, you adhere heavily to the earth? Are you satisfied with the life of this world rather than the Hereafter?
